Job Description

The purpose of the role is to manage projects across a busy and fast growing BFSI in  the region, mostly in the digital transformation and Fintech arena.   These projects will be largely IT and functional based, but may involve significant elements of business change.  The project manager will be responsible for the setting up of a solid governance framework around there allocated projects and ensuring a smooth delivery.   Stakeholder management and communication will be vital to success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work with business stakeholders, Business Analyst and technical staff to scope, design and estimate project requirements and timings
  2. Hands-on management of key projects and programs (may include some own BA work) setting appropriate high standard to lead by example
  3. Provide oversight and challenge of project documentation, progress against plan, risks and issues for projects being managed by others
  4. Prioritize work, allocate resource and report progress in accordance with PMO principles
  5. Cost and Benefits management
Key Competencies (Skills and abilities needed to perform role)
  1. IT infrastructure and business change Project and Program management
  2. Experience of project delivery within a structured framework such as Prince or PMP
  3. Experience estimating, scoping and designing projects
  4. Ability to produce high quality documentation.
  5. Experience delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.
  6. Evidence of active management of project risks
  7. The ability to facilitate workshops and meetings.  For example, requirements gathering, project boards, technical review sessions or process design workshops.
  8. The proven ability to influence those outside of their direct reporting line.
  9. The attention to detail is takes to be extremely precision about the content of requirements documents, weekly reports to status updates.
  10. A good working knowledge of SharePoint or such portals.
  11. The ability to work within an unstructured environment, and without clear guidance.
  12. A technical background would be an advantage.  The role may suit a developer or engineer who is looking to at their second position as a project manager.
  13. A good knowledge of corporate systems such as HR, CRM, Finance systems etc.
  14. Experience managing UAT and testing.
  15. A basic working knowledge of ITIL.
  16. Knowledge of the Banking and Financial Services industry is an advantage.
Professional Qualifications
  1. A formal project management qualification, such as Prince 2 or PMP is an advantage.

  4. Prioritize work, allocate resource and report progress in accordance with PMO and IIBA principles.
